I admitted my son John into an intensive sixty day treatment center for treatment of alcohol and drug abuse in 2003. This is his story in pictures. John exhibited all the signs of a teen in crisis. Skipping school, failing grades, unexplained illness, bad attitude and defiance. I just didn't accept that his problems could be drug or alcohol related. I was in denial. One Sunday morning John offered me the chance to look over the wall into his soul and what I saw was terrifying. He was admitted into The Wilderness Treatment Center in Marion, Montana within 72 hours. |

| John spent a lot of time building his bunker. I was happy when he was building it because it kept him at home and I knew where he was. He put his heart and soul into this structure. After it was finished he spent most of his time here. He literally lived in it. I realized he was drinking and doing other things here as well. He learned in treatment that he was building his coffin.. | ||
