Scallop boats go out from one to ten days. A dredge tows for sea scallops along the ocean floor where they live. Scalloping is a limited access fishery. Permits are either limited access for 120 days a year or a general permit where the daily limit is 400 pounds. The scallops are schucked on board by hand and immediately iced. |
